SIUE Existing Science Building Renovation

H+B was the sustainable design consultant for the renovation of 95,000 SF of the existing 136,000 SF science building. The building houses science classrooms, offices, and an auditorium. The university strove to obtain a minimum of silver certification under the LEED for New Construction Green Building Rating System with an emphasis on reuse of existing facilities, indoor environmental quality and energy conservation. This was the first LEED project administered by the Illinois Capital Development Board and was designed with the intention of exemplifying future renovation projects seeking LEED certification.
