Nestled in the newly redeveloped Botanical Heights Neighborhood, the City Gardens Montessori School exemplifies how incorporating sustainable methods can benefit both students and local residents. The school and all surrounding homes are LEED certified and offer low and earth-friendly operating costs. The City Gardens Montessori Charter School features a geothermal heating and cooling system, rain gardens, passive solar concepts, and provides students with a living-learning laboratory to study and explore sustainability. The development in it’s entirety included renovating the school, in addition to renovating 17 homes and building 14 new single family homes of varying sizes and types. The development is centrally located just a few blocks from the Missouri Botanical Gardens near the Shaw Neighborhood- and just a short walk away from both Tower Grove Park and Forest Park!
